Use of sharepoint object model in managed code for Infopath Client

     Hi All,

In my Infopath managed code i am creating spsite objects with spcontext. This works fine when I open the form with the browser. But it didnot work when I open the form with Client.

I am not sure what is the way to do that. So please tell me how can I create sharepoint objects in managed code if the form also need to work with Infopath client along with browser.

And also please tell me how to debug the code when i am opening a form (deployed in sharepoint) with Infopath client.

I am eagerly waiting for the replies.

you can not use object model code form client forms, a workaround might be to create web services and invoke them in your code.

to debug the code, you need to open your template , in the file -> preview-> preview settings

specify the file location of the form you want to debug.

then go to your managed code and press F5(run the application).

     Hi Qazi,

Thanks for your reply and work around.

But I am still not clear on the debug part. My situation is like this, I have a Browser enabled form deployed to sharepoint.  I want to debug the form code when I open the form with Infopath Client.

And one more thing is I am using Visual Studio for developing. I am not able to find the option that you told me like  "file -> preview-> preview settings".  Please tell me where I can find this option.

    Regards

file -> preview -> preview settings is available in infopath. since it seems that you are using Infopath inside visual studio and not the other way around.

    1. On the Tools menu, click Form Options.
    2. In the Category list, click Preview.
    3. In the File location box under Sample data, click Browse.
    4. In the Browse dialog box, browse to the location where you saved your form with the sample data, click the form, and then click Open.
    5. click OK.

now press F5 and you should be able to debug your form. ofcourse you will have to set debug points in the code
