InfoPath Dev

Hi,

I have created an Infopath form, with a textbox "followNumber".
The value of 'followNumber' is always a digit.
When i publish the form, I set this textbox as kolom.

Now what I want is, when I create a new document, that some code, first read the highest 'followNumber' out of my form library...
And then the new number is 'followNumber + 1' etc.etc.

Has anybody an idee how I can make this?

Have you tried using a rule to do this?

If I understand your question it seems to me that you can use a rule and Xpath to increment your 'followNumber' field.

I see my question is nog all complete...
When I publish the form, I publish the form to a SharePoint form library. In this form library I wil set the 'followNumber' colomn.

So, when I 'click' 'New form' from my form library, InfoPath will open with my own form, with the auto increment 'followNumber' field...

I have given code for a webservice that increments value in a text file by 1, each time it is called and this webservice returns the incremented value.

Set the value in the text file to 0 initially.

Call this webservice when u submit the form.

Set the "followNumber" field to the incremented value returned by the webservice.

Promote the 'followNumber' field so that u have a new incremented followNumber each time u submit a new form.

For example:
The first time u submit the form,ur webservice will set the value in the text file to 0+1=1 and will return 1.
So ur followNumber field will be set to 1,and ur sharepoint column will have 1, since u have promoted the followNumber field.
Similarly the next time u submit,the web service updates the text file with 1+1=2 and returns 2.

followed by connect it to my Infopath form. It Works!!!
