    Uniquely Identify an InfoPath form at runtime.

    Hi All,

    In the scenario of having multiple different InfoPath forms open at the same time, using managed code how would you uniquely identify an InfoPath form.

    that is maybe you are iterating through the Application's XDocuments collection. What / Where is the "form ID" type property.

    Many thanks in advance

    Hi Scott,
    Welcome to the board! There is no Form ID property that I know of. You'll want to write some code to generate a GUID. If you're using .NET this is straightforward. For JScript, you'll need to create your own pseudo-generator. We use the following quite a bit:

    string sGuid = System.Guid.NewGuid().ToString();

    and then set it into the form.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Patrick,

    thanks for your reply. I am relieved to hear i am not going mad!!

    we are using managed code, so this is quite an easy issue to resolve.

    Have i missed some fundamental concept - why is there no "form id" type property?

    Thanks again for your reply

    Hi again Scott,
    It's a good idea given how often they are used. I think that it's just one of those features that got left out.
    Cheers!
