    InfoPath on Server 2003

Here is the synopsis: I have two computers - 1 running Windows XP Pro, 2 running Server 2003. Infopath 2003 SP1 installed on both.

Created a trivial form on computer 1, resulting with form.xsn and form.xml ( published the form template to a fixed location on the C: Drive (say c:\myforms\) All works as advertised on computer 1.

Now copying c:\myforms folder (with two files) to my computer 2 (Server 2003) and trying to open the form.xml, I get "InfoPath cannot open the selected form because of an error in form's code. Execution permission cannot be acquired".

Is this behavior caused by Server 2003 being a lot more sensitive about security? I thought that I understand the basic rules of forms access in InfoPath.

    Thanks for your help

    Re: InfoPath on Server 2003

I use InfoPath on a 2003 Server system all the time. I don't have any issues with it. I'm wondering if there's an issue with the copy.

    1. When you copy, is the destination location the same exact path as the source location? I.e. both are c:\myforms?

    2. Try right-clicking the .xsn file and choosing Design. Then re-save/publish to the same folder. See if you can open it then.

    On 1:
I verified the situation and the paths are the same (which is of course the consequence of me knowing that this ought to be the case :-)

On 2: I tried that, and it works. I remain puzzled about why would it work. Clearly, the answer is in finding the difference between the respective xml files, and I would appreciate if you already have the explanation for me.

    Thanks

    Hi Nik,
Welcome to the board! What is the trust level for your InfoPath form (Tools->FormOptions->Security)?
