I am trying to set up some forms for use by remote workers who have cloud-synced folders (Synology drive) on their local machines. My thinking is that if each user has the same drive letter mapping then the form is local to their machine so documents, even if opened by different users on different machines, look to the local drive for their templates. The benefit would be that users would not have to use a VPN and we would not need a windows server anymore.
Does anyone know if this is possible? I have tried editing the path in the manifest but unfortunately this gets overwritten when I save the xsn.
I am using Infopath 2003.
