    Excel XML

Is there a way to import single records/rows from an Excel XML file into a set of related Infopath forms?

    Hi Will,
Usually, people want to go the other way around. We have developed tools to "pre-populate" InfoPath forms based on Excel spreadsheets, but the process highly dependent on the type of data-source (schema) you have for the InfoPath form. Do you already have an InfoPath form that you want to input them into or would you be creating this from scratch?

Yes I am aware that it seems that most want to use the Infopath form as a way to feed a backend data collection process.

I on the other hand, receive a daily file of Excel data and need to print out about five (letter page size) forms per record/row of that Excel data (which I can save to XML). Specifically, I need to import one record/row of data from an Excel XML file into a set of Infopath forms and print then save. The challenge being how to specify the particular record/row in the Infopath form.

I have already created the Infopath forms, but have no problem recreating them should I need to. Perhaps Infopath isn't the tool to use in creating this workflow, I'm open to creating other processes, just would like to eliminate rekeying data that is already available to me.

What I am looking for is someplace to research this issue, but no matter how I frame my question in a search I don't seem to get anywhere and the application documentation doesn't address this issue very well.
