    Infopath cascading filters

Hi All, I have a InfoPath form 2010 based on SQL server database. In my table I have a column called Observation_Date.

My requirement is that when user opens the form first option he gets is a date picker for eg if user picks todays date 11-3-2017. then my next component should be a dropdown which shows all the Observation_dates for today with different time stamp which are there in the database (like 11-3-2017 02:00:00, 11-3-2017 03:23:44 so on) . Once user select date from this dropdown my repeating table should filter the data corresponding to this selected Observation_date.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Preeti

I think you may need to add a SQL view for this, and a secondary data connection. With a SQL view, you could have a column with just the date value - and then use that for your filter. Or, perhaps you can add another column to your table with that information?

    Hi Hilary,

Thanks for your advice. With you advice I was able to achieve the results but with not complete success. Let me give you a brief introduction about my SQL server table and form.

    Table:

Problem1: On the selection of date previous date selection is not getting cleared. Shown in Image below

I have applied this rule to clear my dropdown list box.

Problem2: While clicking on View Report, I get this pop up which is confusing for the users.

Problem 3: While closing the form which is deployed on SharePoint I get this message to save the .xml form. I don't want this pop up, since this is a SQL server based form and I am never going to save this form.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thanks & Regards,

Screenshots can be attached under the Options tab in a reply. You can only attach one file per post - so you may want to combine all your screenshots in a single image, or make multiple posts. You emailed me stating you'd resolved this? If you still have an issue, just reply to this post.
