I have read through the user guide and reviewed the answers I found to my query on a search of the Microsoft - support pages for Infopath and still I do not seem to be able to configure the form I am creating to work with the logic I am looking to achieve. Can anyone help?
I am creating a form that will allow the user to complete a skills matrix record of a person's software development experience and skill level.
I have created part of the form to assess each language skill via two elements of value, first being how many years and months a person has programmed /used each language (eg .. Java and php) and by way of self-assessment of skill level from a choice of five skill points, ranging from 'No Experience' to Expert/Trainer with Novice, Competent, Advanced and Expert between them.
The data units of years and months plus the five experience levels are the same core data choice across each language listed -(Java, JavaScript, C#/.Net, C++, PHP, Ruby and Python)
I have created a field called 'Years" and a list ('field element') of numbers from 0 to 15 and the same for "Months" with the list from 0 to 11 -
All I want to do is without creating a new list of data for each language item of which there are 8 to assess I want to use the two lists I have created and link the lists 'independently' from each other to each of the languages.
Everything I have tried so far has not worked (I am sure I am missing something - obvious) so I need some help to associate each of the main data source lists I have created with each of the languages I need to be measured in the month, years and skill level.
Can anyone point me to the correct configuration so this can be achieved?
