Main vs Secondary Connection (SQL Server Database)

Hi, I'm hoping someone can offer some advice to help solve my problem. I'm working on creating a form that has two sections, a feedback section and a section below which displays pertinent information. The feedback section has three fields which the user will provide input. One is a date and the other is "Submitted"/"Not Submitted" option. The third field is the Project Number which is a drop down option that I want to be used to query. Below this section will display information such as Project Name, Budget etc. I've created a view in sql server which provides all the information for the lower part of the form and I've created a table which can be linked to my view (via a unique ID) that will store the responses from the section above. My dilemma is setting up the form's connection correctly. The only way I could get infopath to allow me to "Submit" the data back to my table was to make the table my main connection. However I'm having trouble setting up the lower part of the form. My goal is to have the users pick a project number from the drop down list, hit query, and it will bring back all the information from the view. Once the information is returned, I want them to be able to choose "Submitted/Not Submitted" and the date. Then submit their response back to the database. I'm sorry for the long explanation. I'm hoping someone can provide some advice. Thank you so much in advance.

If you want to submit to SQL without code / web services, you do have to create the form off the database. Can you attach a screenshot or a copy of your template? I'm having a hard time visualizing the issue. You can attach a file under the options tab in a reply. :)
