    Date calculations

Hi all, First I have to say that I'm new to Infopath 2013 and this forum has been really helpful! I have tried to find a solution myself and on other forums without success. So, I have 3 fields : a Start Date, a duration with a drop down to select days, months or years and a Finish date. My aim here is when I fill up the start date and the duration, the finish date is automatically calculated. Thank you in advance for your help. Cheers

Hi - I've been thinking about this post - Days & Years should be easy, but Months is a bit trickier. As I have time this week, I'm working on a sample form for you. :)

Thank you. I'm really stuck with this one, can't wait to see what you will come up with.

So - right now, I only have the rules on the Start Date - you'll need to add them to the duration and duration type fields as well. But save the file locally, preview, fill out duration and duration type, then set Start Date, and see if this is close to what you need.

Thank you, I have applied the same rules to duration and duration type but when I fill out duration, duration type and set a Start Date the End Field is blank. It's working on your file but not mine, I'm thinking that I might have insert the MonthHelper and YearHelper the wrong way. Could you tell me how you did? Thanks

Here is a copy with the rules on all three fields, as well as a bug fix - for months over a certain number, the end date was wrong. Perhaps look at the rules on the different fields and let me know specifically what your questions are?

Thanks very much for the new file I just had to change the formula for the step 2, the rest was right. My question is how did you insert the fields MonthHelper and YearHelper on your Fields Task Pane without they appear on your form ?

In the fields task pane, right click the group where you want to add the field and add the field(s) you need. You can also add a control to the form & delete it -the field will remain in the field task pane.

I realized I had put an extra quotation mark in the condition that's why it was not working. Thank you so much for your help Hilary and for sharing your knowledge, it's exactly what I needed and it's working !! :D
