Infopath 2013 : Dataconnection to Sharepoint Enterprise 2013 Excel Web Service

    Hi community,

I'm quite new to this matter, trying to create a form that calculates the days between two dates excluding weekends and holidays.

This is a quite simple task in excel but hard to accomplish in infopath. So my idea was to push some data from infopath to excel, let the excel service to the calculation for me and get the calculated value back into infopath.

I couldn't find any current solution for infopath, only this one which is quite old and refers to Infopath 2007: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/jessmeats/2009/12/01/infopath-and-excel-services/

I have followed the instructions and created SOAP dataconnections to my excel services.

First i got an error 5566 when trying to Open the Workbook.
Checked the ULS Logs and found an Access Denied Error.
Found a thread that ASP.NET Impersonation in IIS Authentication should be deactivated.

Now the OPEN WORKBOOK command completes successfully and returns the required SessionID

But now I get following errors when...

    ...Sending the SetCellA1 command:

"There has been an error while processing the form"

    ...Sending the CLOSE WORKBOOK command:

An error occurred while trying to connect to a Web service.
An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server        .
    Log ID:5566
    Correlation ID:6f506b9d-7ae7-b012-0f59-ac72c1488d6b

Can anyone tell me if the connection between Infopath and Sharepoint Excel Services still works in Version 2013 the same way as it did in 2007/2010...well, I guess not exactly the same

Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong or guide me to a place where i can find the required infos to make this work

Any RECEIVE Dataconnection and READ Action works, like Opening the Workbook, reading the value of cells etc.
But any SEND Dataconnection and Write Actions throws errors

Could this be rather a server config / permission issue and not directly related to infopath?

    Many thanks!

Have your SharePoint admin take a look at the ULS logs for the correlation ID. Generally, I've seen 5566 with REST connections when loopback check hasn't been disabled....

    Thanks for your Reply :)

    We found the following entry:

The following query failed: OpenWorkbook (User: 0#.w|mydomain\farmaccount, Form Name: Template, IP: , Connection Target: , Request: etc.)
Exception Message: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. You do not have appropriate permissions to create a new workbook in the specified location.

I think the claims based authentication method in Sharepoint 2013 could be the reason for my problem.

Found this on the internet: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/russmax/2012/08/17/want-to-call-sharepoint-2010-web-services-within-browser-based-infopath-2010-forms/

Now trying to figure out an easier way to get my form working. Any further ideas would be much appreciated :)

Hi unfortunately not. We tried the solution described in the article behind the link in my previous post and generate a webservice with classic authentication, but it still doesn't work. And Sharepoint Health Status went crazy saying that we are using an unsecure method. Also my sharepoint service company was not happy as this kind of authentication will not be supported in the next sharepoint release anyway, so they recommended to check other options rather than building forms with method that might be unsupported upon the next service release. So sorry! If you find a solution please share with us :)
