I have created two content types on my site and used those content types to create lists. I have content type A and B and I have list A and B using the content types. On content type B, I have a lookup to List A. So basically, I have two lists where one list contains a lookup to the other list. In both cases, these are just very simple lists and I have trimmed this problem down as much as possible trying to figure out where the problem lies.
For both lists, I customize the forms using InfoPath. Everything works fine in the lists with the customized InfoPath forms.
Next, I export both lists as templates. Then, I create new lists from the templates A2 and B2. In list A2, everything works fine. In the case of list A2, when I try to edit the form, I'm asked to refresh the fields and say yes and everything works great. In the case of B2, when I use the form to create new items, there are no issues. However, if I edit the form, and click yes to refresh the fields, the lookup field gets taken away from the list. If I publish the changes, the lookup field is broken on the list.
Is there a way to get this to work?
Note: Using SharePoint 2010, InfoPath 2010
