    Dynamic data inputs

    Hi,

I'm brand new to InfoPath and SharePoint so hopefully this is just something simple I'm missing. I'm trying to setup something that will select a value based on two different input factors (I'm picturing it as row *column).

    Selection Criteria       1        2       3       4       5       6

                  1                 12      36     60     84      84    ....

                  2                 24      48     72     84     ....

                  3                 24      48     60     ....

                  4                 24      36     36     ....

                  5

                  6

                  7

What I am struggling with is having an input value to a field returning a different value. It was fairly simple to use the drop down box and fill it with values 1-6 and display name of the values (Or the other way around.) however what I need is this box to take a value from another box via a rule not manual selection and return another value I can use in a calculation. Imagine the first row as the dropdown box, if I select 1 from the dropdown it outputs 12 to another field correctly. However when I set it to 1 with a rule it does not. I understand why, I just want a work around.

    Thanks in advance

I don't understand, I'm afraid. If a field with a rule on it changes, that rule will fire. So, if your field is blank, and you set it to 1, the rule should fire, whether the field is set with a control on the form or with another rule. Does that make sense? Feel free to attach a sample form under the Options tab in a reply if you'd like me to take a look at your logic. :)
