Getting a DR machine in sync...

    Hi,

We have a SharePoint 2010 farm with 2 web front-ends.  We have a number of successful InfoPath forms in place.  We have a DR farm which we normally have in a powered down state.  We are planning some DR process testing this weekend.

Normal farm is http://frednet.  We have our DR machine up and running at the moment http://frednetdr with a copy of our SharePointDBs.  We are just checking that everything is working prior to the DR machine being brought in as http://frednet during the test.

In the current scenario none of the InfoPath forms are working - they are giving errors on opening.  Is this because they are running on http://frednetdr - will they work when in the real test ?  Or is there something more fundamental, that needs to be corrected.

    Advice gratefully received.

Your InfoPath XSNs likely have hrefs and data connections pointing to http://frednet.   To force these to resolve to the DR environment, you can configure the servers' hosts files to resolve frednet to the frednetdr (you will need to use DisableLoopbackCheck or BackConnectionHostNames when doing this).  Client machines used in testing should be configured to resolve frednet with the frednetdr IP.  You can then verify the disaster recovery scenario testing against frednet pointing to the DR servers.
