Pasting in repeating tables, get 'you have chosen to bind a non-repeating control to a repeating field or group'

Hello, on an InfoPath form that I am working on, I wish to copy the controls and appearance from an existing form.  I have added the schema elements in advance to the destination form.  The source form has two repeating tables.  Let's focus on just one of them.  In the source schema, I have group1 and beneath it is group2.  Group2 is set to repeating.  Beneath group2 are five or so text fields.

In the destination schema, I have added group1 and below it group2.  Group2 has the repeating property set.  Group2 also has the same field names beneath it as the source.

When I copy and paste the source controls, etc., to the destination, all of the controls are unbound.  (Is there a way to paste them in so they are bound?)  So, I direct attention to one of the fields in one of the repeating tables.  I set the binding to the field it should be.  I get the error: "'you have chosen to bind a non-repeating control to a repeating field or group."  I don't know why; as my schema is identical to the source.  I have group1 and beneath it group2.  Group2 is repeating.  It has text fields beneath it.

Does anyone have any advice on how to paste controls into a destination form without having to recreate the repeating tables from scratch?

    Thanks,
