I'm using Infopath 2010 and Sharepoint 2013 to develop a form that will be used to maintain a list on Sharepoint. This list contains several columns, some of which contain non-unique values and others which are wholly unique. For example:
Column 1 Column 2 Column 3
A C G
A C J
A D I
B E K
B F L
My goal is I want to display a repeating table that is filtered based on a selection in a drop down list (which I have already accomplished), but only displays unique values.
After creating a data connection with this table, I created a drop down list that has been filtered to select only unique values within Column A. Based on the selection for Column 1 from the drop down list, I want to create a repeating table that populates with all the unique values for Column 2. In other words, if someone were to select value "A" in the drop down list, they would see a repeating table showing only one instance of values C and D. I have been able to create a repeating table that will display all instances of values in Column 2 based on the selection for Column 1, but cannot figure out how to filter for unique values.
I've been able to achieve the "desired" results using List Boxes, but these have some formatting issues I dislike or are not amendable to the volume of data.
Has any one ever dealt with this problem? I've searched the forums for about two hours, but most of the issues seem to be with validating data going out rather than coming in. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
