Save me!! Infopath and SharePoint :(

Hi Guys, I am having an issue with infopath that is making me pull what is left of my hair! I basically pull the ID column (SharePoint library) from the data connection into a text field with formula inside the infopath form. All works good and the data displays inside the infopath form, but the problem comes in when the data gets displayed within SharePoint, the ID value shows nothing initially unless the form is edited further then the correct value shows up. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thank you Eihab

Oh, I'm confused again. :) So - this is the SharePoint List ID field you are talking about? Obviously, your form has to have been saved to the library to have an ID.... you are saying the built in ID column in the library doesn't have a value? Or is this a promoted property that is supposed to contain the same value as the list ID?
