Formula needed for calculating total time when process is interrupted

In creating a form with calculated time ffields, I am having a problem.

I have five time fields that I am working with:

    1. Begin process
    2. Process interruption
    3. Process resume
    4. End process
    5. Total time for process to run

Data is entered into fields 1 - 4 and I need to calculate the Total time (field 5). All fields are formatted to time fields with the time being displayed to appear as 8:47, 11:12, 11:47, 3:13. Every formula I try verifies as being a correct one, but the trial of data entry produces an "NaN" result.

Can anyone suggest a formula or expression for this?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

There is probably some script for datediff of time to calculate it natively.

I do not think InfoPath can calculate time difference natively.

I would think you would have to use string functions to parse the hours and minutes seperately and then do math comparisons and then you concat to recreate a time value in the correct format.
