    Problem with Getting Started

OK, so DBXL installed fine...  However, on Task 3 1.D when I enter the URL for the new form, when I enter the URL for the newly created form, I receive an error saying it doesn't exist.

If I go into the DAT and open the form, then switch to the design view, that works, but after I save the AD fields do not appear in the form to fill out.  If I flip back to design, then I see the connection is there.

I'm using Vista, which makes the screens somewhat different from the printout...

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Re: Problem with Getting Started

    Hi, Jim:

I just tried to replicate the issue mentioned in your second paragraph, where I open a form from DAT, switch to design view, add the fields from the GetMyInfo service to my form, save, close, save DAT, and open the form again... and the fields I've added do show.

I'm using XP, and my form is published locally. Can you tell me more about how you have things configured? Is your form published locally? Which version of DBXL have you installed - v2.1 or the beta v2.2?

For task 3 1.D in the Getting Started for v2.1, you can just browse to the location where you published your form earlier if it is different from the location in the tutorial. For task 3 1.D in the Getting Started from v2.2, again, you can simply browse to your form if it is located somewhere other than the suggested tutorial location.

OK, error on my part....  we had a link in the IIS, and I found out I need to use the link name, not the actual...

However, moving on to the next step, where am I supposed to find the MyFormsWebPart?

    Thanks,

    Jim

Does it not show up in SharePoint when you follow the instructions for adding it? Are you using Sharepoint 2003 or 2007?
