Conditional Formatting -- How to Show All?

    Hi guys --

Some great stuff on here...learning a lot just from reading.  One stupid question though, and perhaps this is more of a logic issue than an InfoPath one.  After building a quick filter using conditional formatting, I am now finding that I can't have all records display when the filter is left blank.  The filter works to perfection except something is selected...then I'm having issues.  Any ideas?

    Thanks!

You can remove the filter or create a second repeating table without a filter and then use conditional formatting to show and hide each as you need.

Hmmm...guess I thought the solution would be more complicated, but it's not!  Great stuff, thanks.

While I'm at it, any suggestions for building multiple filters?  I can build one without any problem at all, but the second I try to build a filter to narrow down the results of another filter, I get lost in one big mess of logic.

Are you using the filter or conditional formating?

You can sometimes combine these but yes the logic can get hairy to implement complex filters.

I often use conditional formating and use text coloration for testing my logic then I can see all the data and also what my logic is affecting. Then switch it to hide later after I know it is working how I want.

Right now, I'm using conditional formatting.  I have no idea how to even access those "filter" options.  I am loading my Sharepoint list into a repeating table and haven't been able to find any filter options yet.  How would you suggest I proceed for building a bunch of filters?  As you said, it will definitely be getting hairy...

Once you drag your repeating group from SharePoint on to your form you probably have a repeating table. If you go into properties and the display tab you will find conditional formating and filtering.

You just have to start playing with logic to really get a handle on it. Using coloration I find is helpful for seeing the big picture and testing your logic.

Also do not be afraid of using more than one repeating table control or multiple views to show different levels of detail or information.
