Pass user name and password for web service connection in the manifest.xsf

    Hi,

I need to pass username and password for webservice connection. I have created web service connection using infopath default data connection, now i don't want to write code to create the connection and then pass the network credential.

I know it would not be secure to hard code the user name and password in the manifest.xsf because then any professional can see it, but it doesn't affect my business objective.

    Thanks
    Varun

So you have a web service which requires authentication? Is each user authenticating or you have a service account that is connecting tto the data? Is it an SA account or a domain account?

Or are you asking how to get the username of the User?

So you are connecting to a SQL database which contains user account information or some data tied to the username?

I am assuming you used the service account in your connection when designing your form? Does this work?

I have not used a service account but my assumption would be that it would encase the authentication into the data connection for the form and all users would use the SA as long is it was setup in designer.

I Varun you can do this by setting the values in a seperate resource file(XML dataconnection) and set values webservice parameters dynamically using rules if the connection is a recieve connection.

If the connection is of submit type bind the secaondary dom fields while taking the connection.
