Upgrading from DBXL 2.0 to 2.1

We have been using DBXL for some time now and love it.  What is the process to upgrade to version 2.1?  Can we use the new ability to see forms in Infopath and still have the ability to see forms using the Webpart?

    Hi Jeff,

Yes, DBXL 2.1 supports the webparts from DBXL 2.0. The new qForm in 2.1 allows you to manage your forms via an InfoPath UI. We developed qForm for people who:

    • Don't have SharePoint
    • Want better performance than SharePoint - just open qForm once, no need to open separate InfoPath forms all day long.
    • Want browsing instead of full text search - using qForm's taxonomy feature, you can quickly pivot your forms

In addition, qForm comes with many out-of-box features that simplify form's development:

    • Assigned To - see the forms that are assigned to you or someone else
    • Notifications - get e-mail on overdue forms; see them in the user interface
    • Multiple-language labels - the new qForm supports multi-language forms
    • E-mail workflow - out-of-box routing of forms via e-mail with status and cc options
    • Comment history - see who did what when; add comments
    • Search - search for forms in the database
    • Templates - create one form to use over and over again to submit data

and many more features I can't think of now.

After a long testing period, we will be releasing DBXL 2.1 in a week or two. In addition to qForm, the new DBXL contains many bugfixes and performance improvements. As always, we look forward to receiving your feedback.

    Cheers!
