Person/Group Picker Fields do not work in Filler form

Click the Validator/Check Names button or the Directory button... nothing happens.  If the form is published as a web browser form the fields work as expected.  It is only Filler.

Anyone seen this? I am publishing to SharePoint Online.

Usually once you've published a form, you don't need to set the URL in the properties of the person / group picker, but you may want to try that. Right click the control in the designer and under SharePoint Server enter the URL for your site - see if that fixes the issue.

In browser format, people picker only works for me if Form Options > Web Browser > Show InfoPath commands in Ribbon or toolbar IS CHECKED.

Thank you for replying, and just to let you know we recently discovered the problem was caused by a security setting on our network.

sorry for the delay.  I asked the network team for the remedy...

I think in very simple terms, the people picker make a service call whenever you click ‘check names’ or ‘bring up the address book’... that call goes to some back-end SP web services but that call should be over HTTPS not HTTP

That error message is really saying you reached a HTTPS endpoint (designed to serve HTTPS requests) but your request is coming in as HTTP.

    For us:

My best guess is - it is a MS issue (so maybe something similar to diagram above

    • I would assume network team have done nothing as well

    • If it magically fix itself then shouldn’t be issue on the ‘orange’ side but ‘yellow’ side
