Populate Numbered List from Mutiple-Selection List Box

I have a list of 10 items (sometimes more) in a Muliple Selection List Box.

Is there a way to populate a numbered list box based on the order they select it in the Multiple-Selection?

I know if I put a rule in the Multiple-Selection I seem to only get the last item selected.

    Multiple Selection:

    Apples

    Oranges

    Cherries

    Pears

    ...

If I pick Oranges then Cherries I get Only Cherries (in the Numbered List)

    1. Cherries

I would like in my numbered list:

    1. Oranges

    2. Cherries

I would add a list that is bound to the same repeating field as the multi-select. See attached sample form - I also had to set the default data to not include the field bound to the multi-select by default. Save the form locally, right click and select Design to open, then you can preview.

    Hilary,

Binding it seems to be straightforward.  But this: "set the default data to not include the field bound to the multi-select by default"

I am confused as to how to do this.

    Steps I did.

    1) I dropped in multi-select into form

    2) I drop in numbered line item into form

    3) I removed numbered line item from field list

    4) I bind numbered list to muti-selsect.

In the Default Data for the form (under the Data tab in the Ribbon for IP 2010, the Tools menu for IP 2007) you can choose whether to include a field in a new form. If you look at the sample form, you'll see I'm not including the repeating field in the default data.
