Hello everyone,
My issue is that I’m trying to update several fields (names) in my browser enabled form template and re-publish them to the form library that my forms are stored in.
Background Information:
Form template (Browser enabled) created by MS InfoPath 2007 and is published to a SharePoint (MOSS 2007) Form Library. I was unable to save the template as a content type!! The data source consists of fields that I created within InfoPath. The template itself has over 250 fields in it. All of those fields are then published to my SharePoint Form Library.
With that said, there are several fields that I need to delete and others that I need to change the field names. Example: “CBNA” field needs to be changed to “UCCB.” All the fields I need to update (change the field name) are check box controls. Check box properties are as follows: Value when cleared = No and Value when checked = Yes. I need to do this without losing the previous data that is already in the submitted forms.
I recently did a test by changing the field name of “Credit Bureau” and changed it to “Credit Bureau CBR”, but after I published the from template and looked at the form library columns it did not publish the “Credit Bureau CBR” field. I opened a form that had “Credit Bureau” checked previously and the box was unchecked. However, when I checked the updated field “Credit Bureau CBR” and saved the form, it shows “Yes” in the old Credit Bureau field/column in the form library. Any suggestions on how to update these fields without getting errors opening previously submitted forms and have the updated field names publish to the form library correctly?
FYI… I do not use SPD and I don’t have programming experience. Only out of the box InfoPath and SharePoint.
Thanks,
Tim
