qRules - the power of InfoPath without writing code!

qRules is intended for Information Workers who would like to leverage the power of Microsoft Office InfoPath without writing code. The growing library of commands allows developers to easily add functionality to codeless InfoPath forms. The advanced commands included in qRules can be used declaratively via rules, thus avoiding the need to write code.

qRules currently supports the following operations, all performed via rules:

Delete one or more nodes from a repeating group using a button.
Execute view actions such as inserting new rows in a repeating group.
Set a field value to a unique identifier (GUID) in format that you specify
Submit documents to Qdabra’s DBXL Web Service without having to create a data connection.
Copy data from a secondary data source into a repeating group in your main data source.
Save images in your form (or file attachments) to a separate document type (DocType) to minimize size of your form – improves launch time!

Note that forms using an older version of qRules can easily be updated when newer versions are released, such that new operations become available in forms built on a previous version of qRules. qWSSP is a query-only Web Service that offers a very convenient way to query your databases and SharePoint lists. Click DOWNLOAD above to obtain a fully-featured, free trial that will allow you to quickly develop advanced end-to-end InfoPath solutions.

TRIAL LICENSE
qWSSP v2.3 comes with a trial license that is automatically installed during installation.

permits 10 QueryDB connection, as well as QuerySharePoint connections on all ports of the server where qWSSP is installed;
activates the Active Directory Web Service;
automatically installed during installation;
expires on January 5, 2009.

NEW FEATURES
Below you will find a list of the main new features included in qWSSP v2.3:

New features allow users to obtain data from SharePoint lists and libraries

New web interface QuerySharePoint allows users to query SharePoint lists and libraries to populate fields in their forms.
Updates to Query Builder allow for generating queries and filters for use with QuerySharePoint.

Improves the Active Directory Web Service

New operation GetEmployeesForManager returns a list of employees that have a manager with the specified alias.
New operation GetManagerAlias returns the alias for a user's manager if one is set.

RELATED TOOL
Qdabra's Query Builder tool comes with every installer of qWSSP v2.3 and will help you to instantly generate your queries.

UPGRADING
If you are a current qWSSP v2.2 user and wish to upgrade, follow these steps:

Backup your databases and backup web.config for Qdabra qWSSP. This is meant as a safety measure.
Uninstall qWSSP v2.2 via Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
Install qWSSP v2.3 using the same settings used when installing qWSSP 2.2. It is especially important that you use the same SQL server and database names.

Note that these steps will only work if you have purchased a license. Pre-existing qWSSP v2.2 trial licenses will not be overwritten by the qWSSP v2.3 trial license. The only way to proceed in that scenario is to perform a clean installation of the product; that is, indicating databases different from those used for the installation of qWSSP v2.2.

TRIAL LICENSE
DBXL v2.3 comes with a trial license that is automatically installed during installation.

DBXL v2.3 improves integration with SharePoint

SharePoint mapping is now a part of the Admin Tool UI, allowing the administrator to map form data to SharePoint.
Users can also use conditional mapping, allowing different mapping according to field content.
DAT now supports the ability of publishing a form template to an existing or new SharePoint form library.
Support for default and custom SharePoint workflows.
A SharePoint listener allows DBXL and SharePoint to keep documents in sync by propagating deletes.

New features allow users to obtain data from SharePoint lists and libraries

New web interface QuerySharePoint allows users to query SharePoint lists and libraries to populate fields in their forms.
Updates to Query Builder allow for generating queries and filters for use with QuerySharePoint.

Integrates full-text search into web service

Full-text search, which was an add-on for DBXL v2.2, is now fully integrated as a web service in DBXL.
A SharePoint search web part, a feature that allows full text search on DBXL documents from a SharePoint page.

Improves the Active Directory Web Service

BUGS FIXED
This is a list of the major defects that were fixed between DBXL v2.2 and DBXL v2.3.

Removed “Unknown Publisher” security warning that was present in some machines during installation.
Fixed error seen when publishing IPFS-enabled forms that contain UDC connections.
Removed call to submit present within LockDocument and UnlockDocument to improve performance.
Corrected an issue where data loss happened under high load.
QueryDB’s GetDropdownEntries is now able to sort on fields other than value or display.
Triggers that have a side-effect on @identity are no longer causing shredding problems for DBXL.
qForm’s AdminPlus mode is now able to edit documents created in the target DocType from the Catalog.
Fixed error reporting when problems occurred during shredding with Foreign Keys.

RELATED TOOLS
In addition to Database Accelerator (DBXL) v2.3, a number of related tools will help you create and manage your InfoPath solutions.

Qdabra's Query Builder tool, included in all installations of DBXL v2.3, allows you to generate queries for use with QueryDB and QuerySharePoint web methods.
Document Deployer, also known as the Migration Tool, allows for a variety of operations, including qForm Flow cleanup, deletion of all documents, reshred of all documents and server migrations. For more information, please see the User Guide.
The Excel to InfoPath Tool lets you convert Excel spreadsheet row data into individual xml documents that can be opened in InfoPath and/or in DBXL.
The Qdabra Rules Library (qRules), intended for Information Workers who would like to leverage the power of Microsoft Office InfoPath without writing code.
A new Bulk Edit Tool, a graphical interface to the bulk edit web methods that were introduced in DBXL v2.2.
The Bulk Assignment Tool allows you to quickly reassign qForm-based documents using a simple UI.
A new QdUpgrade tool that allows you to add functionality to your forms by converting them into qForms.
