Using the UserProfileService in your InfoPath forms on Office 365

Office 365 and the cloud has been all the buzz as of late.  You can't go to any tech blog or news site without hearing about it at least once.  Well it all sounds great, but sometimes you'll run into some unfortunate limitations that may break your solutions.  Once of these cases has to do with the UserProfileService and InfoPath forms.  Have you ever pulled in user info from AD using the UserProfileService?  Works great, right?  Now try doing the same thing on Office 365.... not so great.  You'll encounter an error that says the form cannot connect to the web service.  Bummer.  What can I do?

qRules is your answer here.  One of the commands in v4.1 is to connect to the UserProfileService which you could only do via code in Office 365.  qRules makes it simpler by doing all the hard work for you.  That's right... no code!  It's pretty straightforward and you can just take your old workfing form, inject qRules, modify a few of the data connections and properties, then you're good to go.

I created a short demo video that explains how to do accomplish this via qRules.
